- July Minutes and Action Items
The July minutes were accepted.
- George and David are working on the presentation for the Department of Finance.
- Taffy printed a couple of dozen copies of the buffer planting document but is waiting for updates from Linda Krulikowski.
David read us a piece he wrote on hurricane flooding for Planning and Zoning. Based on the original FEMA maps, homeowners may feel safe, but they should be made aware that flood zone information has been recently updated. Ellie suggested he should submit it for the next Events publication.
- Tom said that items 2 and 3 under Schools (in our most recent POCD) list are not appropriate for Conservation Commission suggestions – they are not in our area.
- Tom said we should add something about composting leaves to the POCE.
- Taffy wants to add something like the following under Conservation and Environment:
- 5. Discourage the use of disposable plastic shopping bags and plastic water bottles.
- Ellie asked what our response should be to proposed regulation change to Section 4.10 concerning building heights and grades. Our response is due by August 10th. David said he’ll read the section and respond to it.
- Ellie said CRERPA will sponsor a talk about the Conservation Alliance in September.
- George and David will complete the presentation for the Department of Finance.
- Taffy will contact Linda about the buffer planting document.
- Taffy and Sue Chism will gather information about persuading towns (Westport, for example) to ban plastic bags.
- David will read and respond to the suggested change to the building height and grade regulations.
- Tom said he will write to the selectmen asking where the Town Hall photovoltaic cells are.
